Leonardo.ai generates images from text with a strong set of fine-tuned models for specific styles, plus inpainting, outpainting and a canvas editor. The free daily credit allowance is generous enough for real work. Model choice matters more here than in most competitors, and the style presets are the differentiator.
Who it is for
A designer or illustrator who wants daily free generations and control over art style.
Key features
- Multiple fine-tuned style models to choose from
- Image to image and inpainting
- Canvas editor with layers
- Alchemy upscaler and prompt magic
- Train your own model on a dataset
Where it falls short
The model catalogue is the strength and the tax: choosing between dozens of fine-tunes is a skill of its own, and daily credits disappear faster once you experiment.
Pricing
Free tier gives 150 tokens a day, which resets. Paid starts around $12 a month and the limit is tokens, not images; Alchemy and custom model training cost extra tokens per generation. Read the token cost before running batches.
Prices move; the tier structure is the part that stays true. Check current pricing on Leonardo.ai.
